Has anyone ever had a rabies vaccination?

I need to get a rabies vaccination before volunteering at the local animal shelter. I was wondering if any has ever had one before, and if there are any side effects after the vaccination. Also, did it hurt?? I was watching a cartoon today..and after the guy got a rabies shot he fell over and went to sleep. I doubt this really happens, but it got me scared. hehe.

What you need is a tetanus shot not a rabies shots. I have heard of people getting a rabies shot, which where exposed to an animal with rabies. It is a very painful shot and it goes right into your tummy. You better check again about this, because usually you only need a tetanus shot.
