Any 30+ women here getting the Guardasil vaccination for HPV?

This is the anti-cervical cancer vaccination that is in the news because it's proposed to give it to all young women 9-26 yrs (the study population) thru the schools, clinics, universities, etc.
I am wondering how many women who are older know they can get it (if they are willing to pay for it), if you've done it, and if you have had any difficulty.

I know that I could get the shot, but the only way I could get the virus is if my husband cheats on me, and then I'll just kick his *** and deal with it. It would be great proof for the divorce!

Can be spread through any kind of contact, not just sexual. Common warts are caused by HPV.

I'm not over 30, I'm just 24. But yes, I get the vaccine. No complications. I'm glad you are educating yourself and researching the Virus and it's Vaccines.

In Australia its already complusary, I have actually already had my first injection.

The thing is that cervical cancer is caused by a mutation of a common STD, most people get it, the virus itself is just like a cold and in a small percentage of those who get a particular strand of this STD well it mutates the cells on the cervix = cancer.

This STD is the cause of 96% cases of cervical cancer. I think its just because the majority of people over 26 tend to be in monogonous relationships, and chances are you've probably already had it and its either done its damage, or had no effect on you. It's also supposed to be most effective before you start having sex.

It hasn't been tested on people over 26, it probably doesn't need to be but its just a final step before its completely okayed. I'd ask your doctor to get it if you want it. You can probably get it without too much difficultly

My doc said it is NOT effective for women who have already been sexually active. Better check it our first.
