Is there a way to know if MMR vaccination caused my Ulcerative Colitis?

I had mononucleosis in 2001 and received a vaccination for MMR (required by college) probably 1 year later. UC symptoms (as well as many other strange distressing symptoms) began to escalate shortly thereafter. I received some immunizations as a child also.

I have to go back through my Immunization record. As I was naive about these things in college, I simply went and got the MMR vaccine as my college required me to. I probably discussed it with my parents at the time. However, I do believe I had at least measles vaccine (I dont know much about vaccines to know if it was MMR) when I was young. My mother told me I had a reaction to the vaccine, my leg was sore and swollen and I couldn't walk on it for a week or so.

It is very possible that this vaacination has affected your health....ESCPECIALY if you had a noticably bad reaction as a child.

Ten years ago I did some research on vaccines but everyone thought I was nuts to speak against them....but now with the internet helping to spread the truth, more people are putting their heads together and realizing just how harmful they actualy are...and that they really dont do what they claim to

those are just three videos that explore some of the contraversy around vaccines...there are countless others...

plus books..... testimonials....websites... organizations..... please dont take my word for it... educate yourself and then decide if vaccines are safe....Ive deceided they are not

sorry to hear of your experience...i think with time you can recover...but please dont take any more vaccinations and spread the word because the pharmasutical companies are makeing more and more and more of these for us....its a billion dollar business

If anyone disagrees, I ask one question.....Why are children now required to get vaccinated for chicken pox??? We all had it...part of childhood...no big deal......but no your child now needs a vaccination for it......tell me why? (hint: $$$)

MMR is usually given at ages one year and 5 years, just before entering kindergarten. Why did you receive it now? Did you not receive MMR as a child? Very strange. There is no known correlation between UC and immunizations

I've been researching for apx. a year of all the MANY issues that come from vacs...you have to study up on all of this due to your disease. Have you heard/read Dr. Jordan Rubin's story about Crohns healing? We're following so much of it due to my 13 y.o. who has it (and has been vaccinated too).

Maybe, but your ulcerative colitis could just be something that didn't start appearing until you were older due to stress, or something. My sister has UC and didn't find out until age 25-ish. Since UC is sometimes considered autoimmune, it's hard to know if vaccinations triggered it, or perhaps this is a reaction your body had overtime.

P.S. Just because you have UC now doesn't mean you always will. Many people spontaneously recover.

I am very interested in the link between the MMR shot and UC. I was given the MMR shot when I was 2 months pregnant. My daughter is now 11 and has had many digestive problems. She has been recently diagnosed with UC. There must be a correlation between the two. If anyone else has had this problem I would love to know! Thanks.
