Does uterine fibroids relate to pregnancy? |
Does uterine fibroids relate to pregnancy? the relationship between pregnancy and fibroids is that they grow in size along with the baby. my aunt has had a very difficult life with fibroid problems, and with her last baby the fibroids were almost as big as the baby (8lbs). she never had them, or was not aware of them until she was opened up for a c-section. the doctors dont know if the fibroids developed because of the pregnancy or if she had them undetected between babies. also, a friend of mine recently suffered a miscarriage and took a while to physically recover because of the size her fibroids grew to during the pregnancy. If you're trying to get pregnant, having fibroids will not help. Can't say I've heard of anyone getting them during pregnancy but I suppose its possible. If you've got them, get them out as they cause really heavy periods with all the trouble that goes with them [tiredness, anemia, narkiness etc] As above... but also, if you were asking if they are caused by pregnancy the answer is no. I have them and I have never been pregnant :) |
