I had uterine cancer 3 years ago. I had a complete hysterectomy. I have pain again.? |
I have been going to my followup appointments. I checked out fine last May. In December they found another mass of something. They decided to wait to see how much it had grown in May. It hadn't grown. Now I am having significant pain. They tell me that if I have cancer they won't do anything. The chemo and radiation have damaged my insides. The doctors want me to wait until May. What should I do? You need to make an appointment and get back in to see them. If they cannot do anything, I would then get a second opinion before accepting this diagnosis. You need some more testing to find out what is currently going on and probably a prescription for some pain medication. In the meantime, I would be taking pain medication of some sort until my doctor's appointment. Hopefully, you are going to an oncologist, not a general practitioner. Many women that have undergone hysterectomy surgery suffer from adhesion within three to five years, which is a build up of scar tissue in and around the surgery site. In fact, my cousin's wife has just had adhesion removed, along with a small section of her colon that the scar tissue had attached itself to since her hysterectomy. The surgeon told her that she will likely have to go through it again in another five years. You certainly have had your share of cancer , surgery, and chemo. I can't believe you are in pain again.
