The relationship between birth control pills and cancer.?

I am trying to research how taking birth control pills affects your chance of developing cancer(uterine, breast, etc.) and I'm getting mixed results. Some sources say it increases risk, others say it decreases it. Whats your understanding of the issue?

What the first poster said is agreeable. Birth Control pills are generally an concentrated form of naturally occuring hormones that develop in the body to prevent the implantation of the blastocist. The body has redundant mechanisms in place to prevent most deformities, and well... No research has ever shown that an increased amount of naturally occuring hormones produce a degenerative cancerous effect.

These are the same hormones that cyclically move through your body naturally. A link to cancer? Spread that idea on your rose garden, because that's all that it's worth.
