My aunt has cancer???!!?

everyday i find out weird things about my family, well it turns out she has " uterine cancer" can this make her die?? :( or if its early detected , could it be treated and removed??

Happy moments, praise God.
Difficult moments, seek God.
Quiet moments, worship God
Painful moments, trust God
Every moment, thank God.

I have no idea but all you can do is research and spend all the time you can with her. You love her and she loves you. That's stronger than any cancer in the world. :)

Left untreated it would probably eventually spread and kill her, but with proper treatment and care (and if it was caught early enough) she could live for quite a few more years.

look it up on webmd.com..lots of info..search uterine cancer..

anytime theres cancer theres a chance of dying i think deep down cause i have lost alot of loved ones to cancer i do think even if they say they got it all i think that once a person hears that word its a death sentence just try2b there for ur aunt u will be in our prayers

It is curable if caught early enough.

Uterine cancer is one of the most common cancers in women. If detected early, this cancer is often successfully treated.

yes they can do a hysterectomy to remove the diseased uterus but it can spread if not caught in time smoking if she does also seems to make the cells change more rapidly

I believe that the survival and recovery rates for uterine cancer (ie cancer of the womb) are very high if it is caught early enough. It is often treated by performing a 'hysterectomy' or removal of the womb, which is a fairly routine operation, but takes some months to fully recover from. But don't sit and worry - ask your family about it, then you can all work together to give your aunt any support which she may need.

It is curable thru a redical hysterectomy, but they needto make sure it has not spread! A PET/CT scan should be performed to make sure there is no bone, lung or other bone involvment.

This has only become a used practice in the last year so some doctors are unaware of it.

This test can be used after she has bet the cancer to make sure nothing comes back.

IF SHE IS COVERED UNDER MEDICARE SHE WILL COVERED UNDER THE NATIONAL REGISTRY!

I see this test change staging of patients every week! Do not let them use onlycat scans!

not necessarily. the worst that could happen to her is a hysterectomy.people hear the word CANCER and tend to freak out but not all cancer is fatal.yes it is extremely scary, after-all we do live in a society that is "infested" with many types of cancer, but the type your aunt has she should be o.k as long as it didn't go anywhere else. but let her know you care just the same she is probably more worried than you!

As with any cancers, the prognosis depends on many factors- the stage of the cancer, whether it was detected early or has spread to nearby organs, treatment choices. Uterine cancer is usually treatedby removing the uterus and tumor(s) and depending on the spread of the disease, one or both ovaries. This operation is a hysterectomy . After surgery, the next step may be chemotherapy, radiation or a combination of the two. or, maybe the surgery will leave your aunt disease-free. Yes, you can die from uterine cancer as you can from any cancer . but, with treatment, you can LIVE with it also.

What is cancer of the uterus?

Cancer is a disease in which certain body cells don't function right, divide very fast, and produce too much tissue that forms a tumor. Cancer of the uterus is cancer in the womb, the hollow, pear-shaped organ where a baby grows during a woman's pregnancy. There are different types of uterine cancers. Two types are endometrial cancer and uterine sarcomas. In the United States, endometrial cancer is a common cancer of the female reproductive system. This type of cancer happens when cancer begins in the tissue lining the uterus (endometrium). Uterine sarcomas occur when cancer grows in the muscles or other supporting tissues in the uterus. Uterine sarcomas account for only a small portion of cancers of the uterus.

Some women who get uterine cancer have certain risk factors, or things in their life that cause them to have a higher chance of getting this disease. But there are women who get uterine cancer who do not have any of these high risk factors. Uterine cancer usually occurs after menopause. But it may also occur around the time that menopause begins. Abnormal vaginal bleeding is the most common symptom of uterine cancer. Bleeding may start as a watery, blood-streaked flow that gradually contains more blood. Women should not assume that abnormal vaginal bleeding is part of menopause. If you have abnormal vaginal bleeding after menopause, talk with your health care provider.

But we need not get worried. Having got the disease we have to fight it and treat it - that is the only way. What is the use of thinking Death etc. now. The treatment and recovery depends upon the stage and grade of the disease and the usual treatment at any stage is - Removal of the affected portion by surgery, Chemotheraphy and radiation. Pray for her well being.
