Signs of cancer?

has anyone had cervical , uterine or ovarian cancer and what were your symptoms?

or has anyone had a month of spotting then started to bleed continually, like a heavy period that doesnt ever stop...and what was your diagnosis?

there is no infection, and have been seen by gp and am awaiting colposcopy, but the bleeding is getting worse. gp thought was erosion, and checked for infection and gave a pill change, no mention of further treatment, but when he got the nurse to examine me they decided i needed colposcopy...because the bleeding is increasing dramatically im starting to really worry.

Oh My Goodness! - Please IGNORE the answer by "TAFTSRADIATORS".

There is absolutely NO WAY that anyone can make that kind of assumption!

First of all, you are doing the right thing - you have been to the doctors and it is in their hands to get to the bottom of it.

Secondly, there are a whole heap of things this could be! Really.

I am really annoyed that someone wrote that. Please do not panic.

My mum had cancer of the womb last Dec - she is 71 and had light spotting - twice in 6 months. That was her only symptom. There was no heavy bleeding. (Oh shes cured by the way).

I have a friend who bled for a few months once - that turned out to be nothing more than a hormonal imbalance.

I wish you the best of luck and i am sure that you will be fine. May i suggest that you stay away from asking questions like that to anyone but your doctor, or a medical professional? I say that, because i don't want you to get answers like before.

Good luck xx

It doesn't matter about anyone else...see the doctor!

I'm a 12 year ovarian cancer survivor. I did not have any symptoms like you mention. In fact I didn't have any symptoms. I went in for an STD check and they found it in the early stages. For more information on ovarian cancer, go to http://www.ovarian.org/ or http://www.cancer.org/docroot/home/index... You should really make an appointment with a gynecologist or your trusted family physician!

Addition after reading your addition: The colposcopy is nothing to be worried about, it's a very common procedure!

Go to webmd.com type in all your symptoms and they will tell what u may have

I would go with DC's answer and go to a gynecologist. Also I have had the spotting followed by what seemed like a continual period but I had fibroids (which were basically harmless) except they caused pain

I hope everything turns out ok for you

Im very sorry to tell you this, but you have cancer. My mother had these exact symptoms when i was only 15 years old. I suggest you spend as much time with your loved ones as possible. quit your job, and have a good time spending all your money, actually, its probalbly better if you just give the money to someone healthy. there is no point wasting it on someone that is going to die soon
