My point is exactly that: these ideas have not been taken up and I am wondering why? Why are women led to believe that suppressing periods will harm their health?

Well it's certainly interesting but the article is seven years old and I'm suprised that we haven't heared more about this given,as you say,the claimed implications for breast cancer prevention.
