My wife started her period after being post-menopausal?

The doctor wanted her to have an ultra-sound. What are they looking for anyway? Could she have uterine cancer?

They could possibly looking for uterine fibroids.
They are benign lesions that can cause bleeding. Don't worry about cancer. Ultrasounds are done frequently.

Anytime a woman has post-menopausal bleeding, the doctor likes to rule out uterine cancer. It is not the most common cause of bleeding after menopause, but it is the most dangerous.

As the Dr told my mother, the 'textbook says...' if there is bleeding postmenopause, it's more than likely cancer. He was right with her... Please make sure your wife keeps her appointment, depending on the cancer she may possibly have, things could very well be taken care of. If she ignores the Dr, it could go bad really quick. There are other things that could be causing the bleeding, it doesn't have to be cancer, but why take the chance? Is it worth it? I think not!

I am sorry but post menopausal bleeding is the symptom my mom had for ovarian cancer.

She should get this checked as soon as possible.
