I am starting a diet today and am looking for some support.?


I have dieted many times in the past only to gain the weight back but am determined while my husband is away for the next 2 weeks to drop some pounds. I am an emotional eater and am considered obese. I was diagnosed with uterine cancer in december of 2005, had a hysterectomy and am now cancer free. Praise GOD almighty for that. I am going through surgical-induced menopause and am only 27. So I eat to mask the emotions basically. Please give me some supportive comments to help me actually succeed with my diet this time.

i don't know much but i do know that white bread and soda shouldnt be anywhere on your shopping list, bread in general is one of the fattest foods in america, that includes chips , donuts, etc. anything with bread.

here are what you need:

2 hour cardio excercises

proper dieting like watch what you eat

NO FAST FOOD

will power

i also recommend a professional trainer from Bally's or a service like that and stock up on some videos/books on excercising and dieting

I will support you because in the next two weeks i also need to drop some pounds. I am trying to lose 10 pounds so i have alot of work and it's hard to stay motivated.

Congrats on making the choice to do this! Once you've actually made the decision, the diet's become a littler easier. Have you decided what type of diet you'll be going on?

My husband and I started Weight Watchers three weeks ago, ( I am obese, he is overweight) and their Flex Points plan is the easier thing we've ever done! And it's easy to stick to!

For exercise, I can't really do too much simply because I am so big. But we bought the game dance, dance revolution and hooked it up. I play it on beginner, and take a pain reliever before hand. It's fun, and I don't even realize I'm sweating until I've jogged the equivalent of half a mile.

It may not seem like that's alot, but it is. And it's fun!!

some people say that food is like a drug for the obese, I don't know what to offer as kind and encouraging words, but leading a healthier lifestyle is always good. Try cutting out only one item at a time and substituting that item with something good. Here's an example, Say you love milkshakes and you have a sweet tooth. I understand that you can't just get rid of milkshakes from your diet, but you can substitute a walk to the milkshake place and get a smaller shake. You have been through alot lately, and it certainly isn't your fault that you've gained weight. It is REALLY difficult to lose weight when you are going through such traumatic times. Your desire to lose weight now is an indication that you've moved beyond the trauma and can now move onto these other priorities. One thing, do it for yourself, if YOU really want to lose the weight then you will, you've done much more difficult things already. Good luck!
