Chronic Urticaria/Hives treatment? |
I have chronic urticaria thats stress and heat induced. I get red blotchyness all over my face nack and chest and it takes forever to go away and It's horribly embarressing. Anyone know what the best treatments are? benadryl doesn't work for me. Anyone ever tried Hivecten? I had chronic urticaria for over 5 years. Triggered by pressure, heat, cold, vibration. They could be controlled by an asthma medicine and claritin for the most part and I had a prednisone prescription for if I had a severe breakout. An allergist is the best doctor to work with on hives. That's funny. I've had cold urticaria all my life. I get hives when I go in the ocean (the Pacific, which is about ten degrees colder than the Atlantic), and all winter long when I was a kid in Boston. My hives go away quickly when I get out of the ocean and back in the sun (about 10-15 minutes), but a winter in Boston is like walking on pebbles. I woke up yesterday morning to my first case of hives...severe itching and hives moving around all over my body...they would stay awhile on my hands then move to my back then move to my head and neck and ears...I went to the doctor could not take the constant itching and benadryl didn't work at all for me...prednisone didnt work either so the Dr gave me an injection of Kenelog 40 mg....it took most of the symptoms away and now it is prominent on my hands and ears and neck...some itching on my back and head still but I can handle it now....said it is from and allergy and I know not what ....but I will give the injection till Friday then if no better return to Dr....you may want to try your Dr and see if kenelog is something you may need to try |
