Does anyone have Cold Urticaria ?

I have Cold Urticaria and have had it for @ 2 yrs. I was just recently diagnosed with having it in Jan 2007. I would like to just talk with someone else who has it.

I am not sure which you are referring to when you say "cold urticaria" whether you get the hives going from hot to cold or cold to hot. I have been diagnosed with "urticaria" however the doctor doesn't know what causes it, while I am sure that it is the heat. (going from cold to hot) He referred me to a dermatologist but I couldn't get an appointment until the 20th of June. In the mean time I have been trying some medication I found online from urticaria.com.

I have only been taking the medication for 2 days now and noticed no change, however as the weather has gotten better here (in Montreal) the normal places I would usually break out in are using their A/C so the outbreaks aren't as bad if they happen at all. When I feel an outbreak coming on I take off my jacket and vaseline hand moisturizer has a cooling affect on my skin which kind of helps.

My Stinging Nettles are all cold. What else is there unless it is Hot Nettle Tea.
You can not have stinging nettle rash for 2 years, unless you are treating yourself for another condition with raw stinging nettle on your body, of which you have become allergic.
For Stinging Nettle rash on my hubby's mid section I used Calimine Lotion mixed with BFI Antiseptic First Aid Dressing to make a thick spreading cream to apply to the large area he had. It was healed in a week. Our Dr said it was shingles, but we knew where we were and what we were looking at, 3ft high Stinging Nettle. You know emediatly where you got it and what it feels like, and no one could mistake it for some other condition. Dr's can be mistaken, like ours was. Shingles can last for years, so I hear.
