How come my urticaria hasn't gone away & how do other people suffer? |
Ive suffered with cold-related urticaria since i was 10 im now nineteen and was told by doctors that it should go after about 5years if i took my medication. I live in england and was given antibiotics to cure it. Ive given up with the medication (2years ago) as it hasnt worked and still end up getting a red face like barney the dinosaur! - my hands swell up and i get the 'nettle-like-rash' on my arms and legs. it stings and can sometimes take about 6hours for the swelling to go down. Why was i told that it should 'grow out of me' in time and given a limit of 5years? they keep saying - 'it will go eventually'. ive never met anyone with this allergie and would love to hear if other people have the same reaction as me? Try nettle tea both taken internally (or as capsules if you refer from Holland ans Barrett) and used externally as a tea bag. Brew the nettle tea and let it cool to luekwarm. Use the teabag as a sponge to just smear the tea gently over yur affected skin. I would also suggest taking a vitamin C tablet (500mg and preferably timed release) as this is an natural anti-histamine. Also Quercetin as another effective anti-histamine. You can get a tablet from Holland and Barrett that combines Vitamin C with Quercetin. |
