I first had urticaria in 2005 and it got better after 1 year of treatment. Now the symptoms are back but worse?

My face and hands are swollen and hurt badly. The problem is that I am 7 weeks pregnant and the doctor gave some medicine to take only when the itching becomes unbearable. And it is unbearable all the time but I refrain from taking the medicine out of fear for my baby.Any help please??REALLY TIRED .All the test I `ve done came out negative. What`s wrong with me.

Having suffered myself from debilitating skin conditions, my heart goes out to you. The fact that you are pregnant on top of this is an understandable enhancement of concern. With this diagnosis of skin disorder it is essential to "know what your triggers are" and avoid them. I know that is easier said than done, but fundamental, none theless. Avoid triggers, rest, and ongoing medical consultation. Determine if allergies are involved, or not. Good luck on management and treatment of your personal condition.

PS. Have a straight talk with your doctor. We really don't know what passes through the placenta and what does not (Some MDs with assure you otherwise, but research keeps revising those positions). Your unpleasant task is to ask the doctor (and research) about the possible impact of not treating your skin condition on your baby with the possible impact of treating your skin condition on your baby. Good luck on the management and treatment of your baby's potential impact.
