Idiopathic urticaria and angioedema?

Anyone with personal experience in this. Do you have any advice for my 4 yr old who suffers from frequent bouts of severe swelling and hives with no known cause?
Pleas4e no Googled/paste answers I could do that myself. I would like advice from real sufferers or parents.

We did skin prong testing but she is demographic also so she tested positive to everything. The doctors have been reluctant to do further testing because of her age, they say she may still grow out of it. We know she is allergic to bees, fleas, and cinnamon. I might want to add that I suffer from either Lupus or fibromyalgia(no final diagnosis yet) and her father recieves allergie shots for pollen allergies that are severe. She has had at least 6 major reations ending in ER visits and EPI 3 times in the last 2.5 years.

Can we assume that you have already had complete RAST and IgE testing? If so, what were the results. Is this hereditary or was it brought on by the use of ACE inhibitors?
Sorry to answer a question with more questions, but you didn't give much info

I had hives for over 5 years and they went away when I went on a gluten free diet after I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease which is an autoimmune disease caused by exposure to the gluten in wheat, rye or barley. Given that you have been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease(fibromyalgia) and your husband may be allergic to wheat among other things, it might be worth all of you being genetic tested for celiac disease. There is a blood test for celiac disease and you can get an endoscopy done, but they are not super accurate in children. I included some web sites for you to look at.

Seems odd, but we're in Britain and food may be different. I switched to organic dairy and meat products and the dermatographism pretty much stopped and urticaria improved. I'm allergic to penicillin and I thought there may be a link with mass produced animal foodstuffs. I can't find proof, but it works for me!
