I suffer from chronic hives/urticaria. Looking for meds or herbals advice/success for relief and/or prevention

Urticaria is an external expression which reflects the dysfunction of the internal (immune) system. Antihistamines and steroids are not the solution to this problem as they offer only temporary relief.

Benadryl is really good for getting rid of hives, especially releiving itching. It's sedating though. If you have stubborn chronic hives, ask your doctor about Doxepin. Its actually an antidepressant, but apparently its prescibed when benadryl does not work. It has a lot of side effects and is sedating too. Pharmacists have good advise on non-sedating medication, but they don't work as good as Benadryl.

You poor thing! try different lotions, make sure none of the ingredients cause you hives. If you find aloe plants, break the leaves and spread it on your skin, it's the natural skin relief. Making a wash out of Gum plant leaves and then spreading it on your skin will help.
I also heard Vinegar will help sun burn and give relief to other skin problems.

aloe vera works wonders! and also for itch, mix 1 tblsp of baking soda and water and appy!
