How do i differentiate between urticaria and dermatitis?


i have this patch of red skin on my thigh and its itchy. it appears to be dry too. lumps are starting to appear. can someone explain to me the different appearances of the 2 conditions?

Urticaria = hives = raised skin welts.
Dermatitis = 'inflammation of the skin' = red, flaky, itchy.
