How to Treat Cholinergic Urticaria (HIVES)?

How did I get it????? How to get rid of it????

Urticaria is a condition of the skin that causes it to break out under different stimuli( pressure, heat, cold, vibration). Finding the cause in most people is impossible.
I had urticaria for over 5 years and found that the outbreaks could be controlled by serevent or advair. I know other people that have had it controlled by different medicines. Make an allergist appointment, they are best suited to working with urticaria.
Mine went away when I found out I had celiac disease and went on a gluten free diet. You might try testing for celiac disease, blood tests possibly followed by an endoscopy. Don't go gluten free until you get tested as it will mess with the results. If you turn up negative, then would be time to try gluten free diet anyway. Good luck

You can take over the counter benadryl but see your doctor for either prednisone or a steriod shot. Finding the cause is your biggest and often most difficult job. Your doctor will probably refer you to an allergy specialist. If you have any respiratory difficulty (swelling in the mouth, face or neck) you should immediately be seen in the emergency department.
