Can anyone help my mom?she has severe sores around her urostomy site.?

the doctor said there was nothing he could do.i was wondering what could help heal it up.it is causing her severe pain.the sores are big as quaters.and are kinda deep.i have been putting neosprin plus pain on it,but it dont seem to be helping.thanx for all your help.

I have a feeding tube ant I also get painful blisters/rashes around it. My Doctor gives me a prescription antibiotic salve to put on it. I clean it good with peroxide then apply the salve. Most of all just try to keep it clean . I hope this helps.

Find another Dr.She should be able to go to a wound clinic to help heal up the sores.Ask the Dr about that.

There are people who specialize in ostomy care. Tell that Dr that you would like your mother to see one of them. Or to see someone who deals in wound care (heck maybe both!). Most hospitals have teams that deal with ostomies and wounds so you might have to travel to the neast hospital to have that team look at your mother and come up with a plan.
