How far back can urine drug tests detect pot?

My friend is getting ready to take a drug test for a job, and she smoked pot a few months ago and was wondering if it would show up positive for a urine test. How recently do you have to have smoked for it to show up on a drug test?

I am involved with drug testing with my line of work and have lots of experience and have had this question come up all the time. How long will or can you test positive with the use of pot? It is not as easy to say 30 days or 6 weeks it depends on a few factors. THC has a half life of any were from 1-10 days depending on amount and quality used. And then there is your own biological functions on how fast your body can help rid you of THC. Also, how much of a user are you is this a one weekend kind of useage of do you use every day. The heavyer the usage the longer it may take you to test negative. There are products that ppl use to help cleans thier systems. Take a walk on the web and take a look. My advice is try to avoid using for at least 30 days before testing.

I'm pretty sure it can remain in your system for up to 6 months

After 30 days there may be traces of it but not enough to fail majorly on the test.

i have heard 6 weeks. I also hear mention of a product that cleans out you system. Ask around see if you can locate this kit.

In urine only a few days but they can test hair for drug use.Thats why Brittany shaved her head!No job though would realistly use such an extreme test.Good luck to your friend but pot does carry a lot of risks.Jenny

A few months means she will be fine just be sure drink plenty of pinapple juice 24 hours prior to the test as the acidic levels of the juice help mask any THC.
