4 positive pregnancy tests but my urine sample from doctor is saying negative?

i have taken 4 pregnancy tests all of the have come back positive i took 2 clear blue and 2 of the dollar ones.But when i went to the doctors they said to take a urine sample and they would send it away and the results came back a week later saying negative.I have had no period from the 28th april,does this kind of thing happen often.

Have them take blood, it is more accurate!

it could be too soon to tell in your urine, maybe your dr needs to do a blood test.

I would suggest asking your doctor to do a blood-work pregnancy test. There are occassionaly faulty batches of all test strips and it is concievable that this may have happened to you.

I'd go to a different doctor if I were you, just for a second opinion. If there are health clinics around there (like Planned Parenthood) sometimes they'll give you free (or nearly free) pregnancy tests, and then if it comes back positive they'll direct you to where you need to go (doctors, ob/gyns, etc).
However, your period can stop because of stress. It doesn't necessarily mean you're pregnant.

I would say you are pregnant, you can't have a negative positive test, buy another if still positive then go show it to your doctor.

Your doc should be able to examine you by now and visually see if you are pregnant by checking your cervix and by ordering an ultrasound.

Tell the doctor of these four positives and have him do a blood test, also ask for a scan or ask them to try and monitor a heartbeat

why would they send away your urine and make you wait a week for results...that's freaking werid...any place iv ever gone had the test right there and you know with in a matter of seconds...maybe that's why they are saying its negative cause they send your pee pee away and maybe its no good by the time they test it..hell if i know

Well there could be a lot of reasons u haven't had ur period but to be sure if ur pregnant or not ask ur doc to take blood and test it like that whatever that test says is the truth no if and or buts about it. testing by urine is not always the best way.......

I'm confused... Usually they use a "home pregnancy" test at the doctor after they have you go pee. Your Dr. office can take a blood test to check for HCG in your blood. I can't understand why the home pregnancy tests would show a positive although it is possible for your body to sometimes produce HCG without being pregnant. Are you waiting the full time to read them? Because if you read them before it's time you could get a false positive or negative. These tests work by a chemical reaction with HCG and if the time has not been allowed to pass then the reaction isn't complete.

It doesn't at all make sense to me that your Dr. sent your urine sample away. You need to have fresh urine samples when doing a pregnancy test & if it were sent away it wouldn't be fresh.

You may or may not be pregnant & you can actually stress yourself into not having a period. Good luck!
