Can Urinary tract infections sometimes cause intense abdominal pain?

I had some kinda intense abdominal pain similar to my period but not the same...it vanishes and comes back..it's strange...also my period is super light..and the flow keeps changing...we suspected me to be preg I had alot of symptoms but found I had a urinary tract infection....the doctor said an ectopic preg was a possibility( egg stuck in tube)
and I would have to get a blood test to see she gave me a med for the infection and said if the pain doesn't go away to get tested..well this is my last day of taking it and the pain is lingering... any advice..or ideas of what it could be? Has any one experianced this before?

You could also possibly have fibroids or cysts. I had a cyst as big as a grapefruit on one of my ovaries and it hurt like crazy. I was playing in a softball game, swung the bat and fell to the ground. That simple swing made it burst and you have to be careful with that because it can cause other problems. If it is a cyst that burst it can create puss pockets inside of you and that could be painful as well.

I would go to your GYN and request a regular ultrasound as well as an intervaginal ultasound (meaning they stick something inside of you). They can find more out by doing that.

You could also possibly have endomedriosis and that is painful, it's where the lining of your uterus grows outside instead of in and if you're having sex or trying to get pregnant it could cause pain and surface that you have that.

Good luck, but whatever it is, keep pushing because if you still have the pain then there's no resolution. If everything vaginally is working out, also have them test you for HPV because that is very very commen in woman- men are the carriers and don't even know if if they don't have the strain that's genital warts. There are 70 different kinds of HPV and it can lead to other things and cervical cancer. Just be your own advocate and push your doctors!

If you still have a UTI- you should ask to see a Urologist because they're the ones that specifically will deal with that and they can put a catheter in you and see what's going on and if your bladder is functioning correctly- an infection could be gallbladder problems or kidney stones as well!

Yes, I had a cystitus infection a few weeks ago, I felt a lot of pain like period pain. But if you do not have other classic syptoms such as burning feeling when urinating, urgency to use the toilet etc, I wouldn't think it was this!

yes i have pains with my Urinary tract infections

Urinary tract infections can be quite painful. But from what you're saying, you need to follow up with your doctor right away. Good luck, dear.
