Anyone know anything about orange juice and baking soda helping with urinary tract infections??? |
I have had what seems to be a urinary infection for quiet sometime.i have had a few tests done with my doc which have showed up negative but he is sure i have one cause i have all the symptoms and he found a trace of blood in my urine.the tests dont always show up positive with urinary infections.anyways the thing is he is doing further tests so he isnt gonna take action until he knows more.he has given me a course of antibiotics but they didnt do anything so i am looking for anything that could help.i have been drinking cranberry juice but i heard today about putting a spoonful of bread soda into orange juice.anyone know any more about this or any other home remedies that could help relieve it til i get it under control.thank you aside from taking azo an OTC pill, I found this on the web....hope it helps...I know it says for women, but I think It would help you too.... Baking soda and OJ is new to me ... never heard it just the cranberry juice ... you may want to look for the 100% juice and not the 10% stuff with lots of sugar. Its usually in the supermarket natural/green foods section. it's about 6 bucks but you dilute it since it's stronger than the sugary from concentrate stuff that you would typically buy off the shelf ... much better for you all around Cranberry pills and AZO Standard from the pharmacy should do the trick - they're usually near the Tylenol and PMS stuff on a bottom shelf. I take about 6 pills for the first does with a FULL glass of water... wait as long as you can (like an hour) before you pee, and it should do the trick. Your pee will be BRIGHT orange from the pills. never heard of it try cranberry juice, and lemon barley water, very good. drink a lot of pure cranberry juice everyday , that is the best for urinary tract problems. Cranberry Juice is the way to go. Make sure the juice has more than 10% real juice. I heard OJ makes it worse because of the citrus. Stay away from caffeine also. |
