What is a vitamin I can take to ward off yeast and urinary tract infections?

I seem to get yeast and urinary tract infections very easily. What is something i could get at the health food store to prevent them?? Thanks!

Yogurt is great in attacking those nasty yeast infections. The live and active cultures in them work wonders. As for the urinary tract infections they say that Cranberry Juice works, you can get it concentrated if you don't like to drink the juice.

Slow down on yeasts in food, white breads, chocolate. Eat yogurt.

These are not vitamins per se, but to ward off urinary tract infections drink cranberry juice.

Yeast infections are a little more difficult since they are often a result of factors that are not entirely diet related. However, if you take acidopholus ( like that found in good quality yogurt ) or in capsule form, you may stave off a yeast infection.

Not a vitamin, but a mineral, Silver Shield. This new patented colloidal silver has been proven to kill all known bacteria, virus, yeast and fungus. I was prone to UTIs, but I now use Silver Shield instead of going to the doctor for antibiotics.

It has no side-effects and is safe for people (and pets) of all ages.

You can get Silver Shield here - http://www.mynsp.com/natural_healing/pro...

Hi,

I'm not sure there's a specific vitamin or mineral you can take that will prevent yeast and urinary tract infections. Those are actually 2 different problems. For the yeast infections, you can try to take probiotics which cleans out the bad bacteria and builds up your good bacteria.

There's a tea that I drink called Holy Tea made from holy thistle and other herbs. It's been used to clear up too much yeast in the body. Here's more information about it. http://www.holyteaclub.com/web/ecoughlin...
Read all the way down the page and it talks about yeast overgrowth and how the tea can help.

I hope you find the answer that's right for you!

Healthy Mom

I had UTI once and drank glasses of no sugar cranberry juice for about 6x a day. It was totally gone after 3 days.

I have always had excellent luck with parsely tea - it is extremely inexpensive & has always been effective for me. I have a compromised immune system & got tired of antibiotics, and one day Susan Powters said to clean one bunch of parsely (maybe start out with a half of one bunch, clean it WELL, and then boil in 2 cups of water. One cup should boil out & the water should be pure/or drinking water if possible. Drain the parsely out thru a strainer & keep the green looking water (it tastes like your drinking warm grass!! IF the taste is unpleasant, try it cold or with a little honey). But i think warm/room temp is the best for your body.

Drink this before you go to bed, and repeat the following night with plenty of fresh water & you should get way faster relief than antibiotics. It has worked for me religiously!! And after a few rounds of it, i have even stopped getting UTI/kidney infections as frequently!

It is also good for slimming, and stomach issues! Very beneficial to your body all the way around.

As far as yeast infections go, a good probiotic is the way to go on that, either by pill or yogurt. Or, in traditional medicines, Diflucan (a one time inexpensive prescription pill) helps tremendously & quickly. Even both the diflucan & probiotics are a good combo for that.

Good luck!! Hope you feel better, and take care of yourself.

Also, i have heard very bad long term reports of using colloidal silver - there can be small amounts of buildup in your sysytem. YES, it works well, but after doing a lot of research, i found that it is something to use only on a very short term basis. On top of that it is also very expensive & you have to take a very good quality brand to be safe. So be safe & good luck. Wishing you the best (and feeling your pain!!, i've been there)

I can tell you tho - the parsely tea is magic!! You can even find it pre-bagged for sale in some health food stores if you don't feel like boiling & straining it yourself.

Not too sure of a vitamin that works, but I do know of certain foods you should eat and NOT eat. Stay away from foods high in yeast. Also, soft drinks, foods high in acid, or vinagar can cause problems as well. What you should do naturally to help keep those pesky things away is eat lots of yogart, natural cheese products, eat cranberries(fresh or dried), and drink all natural, no sugar added cranberry juice. Thats your best thing to cleanse your UT out of impurities that can cause infections. Also, if your sexually active, make sure you are peeing before and afterward, if you don't, believe it or not, the germs that get up there during sex can cause you to get UTI's. Good luck, and I promise if you do these things, it will make the world of difference! :)

There is a complete liquid vitamin called VEMMA that you take 2 ounces a day. Check out this website and read about UTI. www.vemmatestimonies.com

They sell cranberry pills specifically for UTI's in health food stores and drug store.

There are 3 supplements that I recommend for yeast infections. The first one is a probiotic capsule from Jarrow called Fem-Dophillus.

The second one is Sacchramyces Boulardii

which is a beneficial yeast that competes with the unwanted yeasts and bacteria. The third thing is Pau d' Arco which is an herb that you can get in various forms.

I know a couple of people who have had good results with these treatments but I recommend that you do your own research with regards to my recommendations. Good luck!
