Are urinary tract infections contagious ?

I have a UTI... Can I pass this to my partner? Can we still engage in sexual activity or should we refrain?

No, you cant pass it to him but it could irritate you.

Sure they are but all you need do is buy some cranberry juice and keep it coming. Although gonnareah also has similar symptoms so you may wanna check that out b4 you go bumpin your loved one and potentially pass on a case of nastyiness!

no its not contagious but its painful you feel so bad most time you dont want to do anything but take pain pills and antibotics.

NO, it is not a contagious infection. You can get an urinary tract infection from having sex, because of the Bactria that can get in your urinary tract and become infected. Before you go to the doctor, unless it is real painful, drink ALOT of cranberry juice and water. Make sure it is pure cranberry juice with no sugar, that will only make it worse. If not he can give you a pill that will clear it up within days. Search on MYMD

it is better not to take part in sexual activity, because the infected region is sour with inflammation.in that kind of sensitive conditions u may develop vaginal infection also,be careful

Cystitis (inflammation of urinary bladder), a common condition, is usually caused by a bacterium from the anus entering the urethra and then the bladder. Common organisms that cause UTIs include: Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus saprophyticus. Less common organisms include Proteus mirabilis, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Enterococcus spp.
A mnemonic that can be used to remember the bacteria that cause UTIs is SEEK PP (Staph saprophyticus, E. coli, Enterococcus, Klebsiella, Proteus, Pseudomonas).
This leads to inflammation and infection in the lower urinary tract. It can pass on to your sexual partner.
Please see the webpages for more details on Urinary tract infections.

HI, a UTI is not contagious ,you can still engage in you normal sexual activity ,but for you it might be a little uncomfortable ,and painful until you get treatment to clear it up, but you cant give that infection to anyone ,its within yourself, it is a bacteria in your bladder , so don't worry that you will pass it to your partner , you need to drink lots of water and cranberry juice OK,
i hope that things work out well for you
