Repetitive Urinary Tract Infections - 4 years now!?

Hi everyone, I've read all the Q&As to UTI problems, but mine is a bit different...

Most people who get UTIs get all the usual things (need to pee heaps, hurts when peeing, etc) & they 'have' to go on anti-biotics to get rid of it. With me, when I get mine (which I get one every 2 months without fail) I get all the usual symptoms (mentioned above), & it all lasts 6-8 hours, but I don't 'have' to have anti-biotics to make it go away. I just drink LITRES & LITRES of water to basically wash it out of my system, & all the pain stops (6-8 hours later, but at least it stops). But then it still returns a couple months later & we go through the whole process again.

I've had UTIs for 4 years now (ever since hubby & I once experimented 'that place'), & we both completely regret that choice SO much! Drs have put me on many anti-biotics in the past which none have helped, I've seen specialists who don't know what's wrong, are there any other options anyone knows about that could help???

This doesn't sound like a UTI. If it were a UTI you would need antibiotics and/or urinary antispetics to rid the bacteria and pain. My advice to you is this: Go to see a different urologist immediately. Four years is a very long time to have chronic urinary pain. There could be a serious issue going on which requires treatment and unless you go to a specialist you'll never really know why you're having pain. Urinary pain is NOT normal. Don't give up until you know the answer.

Cranberry juice!! it helps.

When you say " experimented that place" I 'm assuming you mean anal sex. If this is so then the culprit and answer is easy. You are getting a type of bacterial infection or uti from your husband. If he has not been treated simutaneously with your own treament with abstinence from sex until the unfection is gone, then you guys are just the infection back and forwards between you. drag him in with you when you see your Dr and get him cleaned up while you get the same treatment.

Hi There,

I am not a doctor but I can tell you my story: I had the same symptoms and the doctors tried everything-streptomycin, strong antibiotics. Then finally they thought I had a kidney stone or infection so they tried to inject a die to detect the problem. The needle broke during the injection and the dye went into my bloodstream.

It got so bad that I lost the ability to move, my body felt like lead and I could not sit, stand, go to the toilet and could not even lift my arms to do my hair. When I started getting horrible blinding headaches and stabbing pain in my right eye, I finally went to our Homeopathic doctor who had performed wonders for us on other occasions.

He diagnosed that I did not have ANY infection whatsoever. He just said that I was having too much sex, that the irritation and burning was caused by internal abrasions.

My husband and I stopped having sex that much and my life got back where it used to be. I never had the problem again but it took awhile to recover from the anti-biotics.

I suggest you find a good homeopath and try to see if s/he can help.

I also get UTI's quite often. I have heard of the cranberry juice suggestion as stated below) but, you would have to drink litres and litres of it for it to make any difference at all. And still, it may not. My suggestion are cranberry pills. You can buy them at your local health food store. I would start taking them daily, as part of your nutrition plan. As far as it going away after 6-8 hours - well, maybe it never did completely go away. Maybe you were able to flush out most of the bacteria, but there is still some there which is why it recurs so quickly. Maybe try increasing your daily water intake to flush out bacteria? I also cover toilet seats when using public restrooms with tissue. Maybe use condoms when you have anal sex. Make sure you are wiping front to back. Hope this helps!

clean the damn thing your boy friend will appretiate it to.

wipe front to back, pee after sex, stop taking baths. and drink cran juice

Your little experiment could be the cause and your husband would need to be treated to, but there are some possibilities it could be other things. You could have kidney stones, they hurt and can have the same symptoms to. If that is the problem they have something you can take to help it dissolve, but I strongly suggest seeing a specialist if your regular doctor doesn't know what is wrong. I hope you feel better.

I have small children and I use to take care of several elderly women, they get these types of infections from not wiping right, try wiping from front to back, then have your husband get an anti biotic as well, because the 1 eyed monster get's bile in it, from your new activities and that bile is everything your body could not break done, so of course it should not go directly into the other hole until it's been throughly clean.
