Can urinary tract infections go away without an antibiotic?

if it is acute... if so how?

with some urinary tract infections, drinking cranberry juice will help to defeat the infection. it is doesn't (in 2-3 days), see your family doctor or a urologist.

yah, lots and lots of juice...preferably cranberry, grape juice, something acidy.

cranberry juice works the best

Cranberry juice should help. However that takes much longer than antibiotics.

you can try drinking alot of cranberry juice or they have cranberry pills you can take ..

It's unlikely. However, drinking a lot of cranberry or blueberry juice or eating a lot of the fruit (blueberries) will help. Also, over the counter Uristat will help with the symptoms. But you really ought to see a doc because a UTI can develop into something extremely severe if it lingers.

SEE YOUR OBSTETRICIAN, NOW!!!

Cranberry juice and lots of water can help, however there is a greater risk the infection will return.

Some with cranberry juice however my wife suffered for 10 years till we figured out both of us had to take antibiotics. Not V.D. but some UTIs can stay in both partners.

precious is absolutely right i am allergic to most antibiotics so my doctor has me drink 2 liters of cranberry juice a day when i get a uti

No, My sister thought cranberry juice and such would cure hers and she ended up in the hospital with Kidney infection caused by her UTI

no the antibiotic brakes it down

Various drugs are available to relieve the pain of a UTI. A heating pad may also help. Most doctors suggest that drinking plenty of water helps cleanse the urinary tract of bacteria. During treatment, it is best to avoid coffee, alcohol, and spicy foods. And one of the best things a smoker can do for his or her bladder is to quit smoking. Smoking is the major known cause of bladder cancer.

If it does, it's a long painful road going there. I just got over a kidney infection, and I couldn't imagine not having anti biotics. Suck it up and go to the doctor. I didn't have symptoms when I had a UTI, and then because I didn't know I had one, it mved to my Kidneys, and they got infected, and that hurts a lot more than just a urinary tarct infection, and now my right kidney has lots of scar tissue and is sore from it, still..

Cranberry juice, water...the fruit, all of that helps, but get some meds.

urinary tract infection or any infection can go away without outside medicine since the body is a self-healing organism.
cranberry juice, unsweetened, (kind of sour) can be helpful.
garlic and echinacea are good herbs for infections and so is vitamin c.
i personally am all for avoiding anti-biotics and finding a natural way when possible. that said, a uti is one of the few things that i WILL go straight to a doctor and get a prescription for. the pain and discomfort are not worth waiting for relief from and i've had enough to know, that for me, an anti-biotic is the quickest most effective way to feel better.
either way. good luck.

Eventually your body will fight it off without any intervention. In the meantime, though, you will be miserable. Why live with the pain and discomfort any longer than you have to? If home treatments and flushing your system with water don't get rid of the infection in a few days, antibiotics are the way to go.

If you are going to drink cranberry juice, you need to get 100% pure cranberry juice. Most cranberry juices, such as Ocean Spray, are made mainly with artificial flavoring, not real juice.

I don't know if that's possible, but I do know that drinking lots of water and cranberry juice will help with the burning that you feel when you go the bathroom.

i dont think so. let me tell you what though. drink some cranberry juice. that helps. i know cranberry juice is nasty...so mix it with something

Cranberry pills
and lots (I mean LOTS) of water
