When testing for UTI (Urinary Tract Infections)...?

Will the lab pick up traces of marijuana use, too?
I understand that you must pee in a sterile cup and it is sent the lab to test to see if it's either positive or negative and that is what I'm concerned about. I smoked weed last week and it usually takes four weeks to get marijuana out of my system.

I work in a hospital lab. We don't and can't run tests that are not ordered.

If the physican orders a standard urinalysis, then that's all I do.

A drug screen must be specifically ordered for me to check for THC (the active ingredient in marijuana).

Drug tests are expensive to do, so just like any business, we only run what's ordered.

But if it is ordered, then we will run it. Drug tests these days are very sensitive and pretty specific.

Don't worry. They don't test the urine on drugs. Makes no sense and would be to expensive.

I don't know... I would stop smoking.

To pop for weed you actually need to be TESTING FOR WEED.

They are testing for an infection... not a drug test...

They don't care if you smoke CRACK... They only care about infections!

No, it generally detects white blood cells, pH, specific gravity, proteins, glucose.. things like this.

If they aren't testing for marijuana, it wouldn't come up.
