Aside from the introduction of bacteria into the body from some outside contamination, they can also be caused by irritants, such as chemicals, including fragrance, in toilet tissue, tampons, bath soaps or bubble bath. Tight underwear that doesn't allow free air circulation can also breed bacteria. So can the friction caused by sexual activity.

Not drinking enough water can make you more prone to them. A lot of water and also cranberry juice are good for urinary tract health.

Many things increase the risk of Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)...such as urinary retention which can happen from the pelvic floor muscles spasm...sex, excercise, and BM can increase the risk of this in some people. Cleanliness can help prevent them. Drinking plenty of water to help flush your sytem also helps. If your urine is too alkaline or you have a weak immune system that increase your risk of them. Bacteria cause UTI unless your infection is something other than bacteria. There are multiple types of bacteria.

Get tested....many things can cause UTI symtem that aren't UTI's. Overactive bladder, Interstitial Cystitis, Yeast infections, Pelvic Floor dysfunction, and many, many other things.

When I was a teenager, I used to get urinary tract infections. My doctor finally asked if I was using bubble bath. once he told me to stop doing that the problem cleared out. also, he told me wearing my pants to tight. If you don't go to the bathroom when you need to that could cause the problem.
you should probably go see a good urologist and find out what to do to get this fixed.
