- reduce caffeine sugar starch dairy I used to get horrible chronic UTIs. The doctor I saw told me that besides washing every day and doing all the rest, be absolutely SURE to wear 100% cotton underwear, NEVER use pantyliners or pads (tampons ONLY), and shave or closely trim my pubic hair on my labia. Sure enough, I started doing these things, and I haven't had a UTI in nearly 20 years. actually, sometimes lube can cause them. also, drink cranberrry juice instead of taking a pill. it is more effective. You have to drink a TON of water!!!!!!!! If you drink Cranberry juice it will help, but you should try eating them too!! I am very prone to UTIs also. I also drink alfalfa iced tea, which usually cures it. I don't know where my mom gets it from, but you drink like a 24 oz bottle through out the day for one day. In between you need to drink nothing but water. That does the trick for me! Stay hydrated when drinking alcohol, actually, just stay hydrated (8 glasses a day!), When drinking cranberry juice, make sure its not cranberry cocktail (its loaded with sugar and it's just cranberry juice), wear cotton underwear at night, or even just shorts (your downstairs wants to breathe!) and eat yogurt.. Yogurt aids with digestion, yeast and bacteria in the body (yogurt contains good bacteria, which helps your body). Pickles are also good for you, the pickle juice (which they're preserved in) helps flush your metabolic system which in turn is good for your urinary tract. |
