IIF SOMEONE SUFFER WITH PARANOIA AND COMPOSIVE DISORDER, WHAT SHOULD I DO?

My spouse has this problem, but afraid to take any medical from doctors. Once on a job someone pretended they were running reseach on him by putting something in his drink at work, and now he thinks they run research on him. When I told him the jerks were fooling because he was nervous, he doesn't believe me. He washes hands 20 times a day. Tell everyone in the world this happen to him, and he trust no one. It drives me crazy but I try to understand.

He needs to be willing to accept psychiatric treatment. That is really the best and only solution. Be supportive and tell him that you want to help him help himself, and help him get rid of these issues. Tell him you are there for him, but that he needs to accept help from someone who is a professional in these issues.

Best thing to do is get him into a hobby - I do fishing but I have to wash my hands 3 times each time I bait a hook, so get him near the water so he can feel better as he can stay germ free.

Getting the so called professional help is nothing but drugs which lead to Colombine School scenarios - that is why I had to stop the professional help and picked up on raising birds and fishing ... my children love it and I am not a zombie listening to voices in my head brought on by all the drugs to make me normal ...

Give me drugs to make me normal - that mean everybody else is on drugs and that is where I got my problems fitting in - cause I hate drugs???

There's nothing you can do, except encourage him to understand that his paranoia is a fx. of low self-esteem and his OCD is a fx. of a chemical dysfunction in the brain, as well as his paranoia (he's washing his hands 20x daily because he can't trust his environment enough to accept that they're clean).

I'm sorry for you. and your spouse. Mental illness is an insidious monster that, once it jumps on someone's back, is there for a long time-sometimes the duration.
