Did you have weight loss w/ Hoodia? Bad effects?

Being underweight most of my life, I have NO experience w/ any diet aid/ pill. My friend wants to try this Hoodia. I've researched it and I am concerned since this, much like other diet pills/ vitamins, etc. is not regulated in any way. He has never had a weight issue but due to a medication he has to continue to take for a medical health issue, he has gained 20 lbs in the last few months. A major, well known side effect of the med is increased hunger and weight gain. I understand it (Hoodia) claims to suppress the appetite. That is why he wants to try it. His doctor has no objections- just questions if it works.
My questions if YOU HAVE USED IT-
1.) Most importantly, did you have any bad side effects?
2.) Did you try/ buy it because a MEDICATION made you gain weight?
3.) Did it work to suppress what he calls"cravings" as opposed to "belly growling" hunger pains?
4.) If you did lose weight, how much and in what time frame?
5.) Which one should he try?
Thanks!

Hoodia DOES work, I've used it, and, like any other drug or supplement, if you stop using it and resort to bad habits, you'll put the weight back on.

To answer your questions:
1) I had no bad side effects personally
2) No. I tried it after I saw a report on 60 minutes about it.
3) Yes. Hoodia supressed my craving to eat more than anything else.
4) I lost about 34 pounds in a 3-month period. That was with a sensible diet and exercise along with the Hoodia.
5) There are many to choose from. Go for the 100% Hoodia brands.

You have to remember that it's a diet suppressant, nothing more. That's why you see some brands of diet concoctions mixed with Hoodia. Hoodia just keeps you from wanting to eat. It won't help you lose weight all by itself. It will help you control you impulse urges.

You can try some for free for 7 days, some of the vendors that offer it for free are listed here off and on.
