Liver Ultrasound Follow-up? |
I had a second liver ultrasound done for a small elevation in liver enzymes. 80 on a scale of 10-60. I am 29 years old. The first ultrasound I had 5 years ago came back with a fatty liver. The one I got this time came back the same. I have had fatty liver on and off as my weight has flucuated over the past 5 years. When its low everything is normal with enzymes. When its high they come back slightly elevated. The GI said he wants me to go for a follow up Cat Scan because there was a small area near the gallbladder that looked a little strange on this ultrasound. He said hes sure its just a little fat bulid up in that area of the liver OR fat around that area and lack there of fat in that specific small area thats causing a different shade of gray. (confusing huh). He said ultrasound is not very clear/specific so plenty of things look a little off. He said not to lose sleep. Any suggestions on what this could be? Is it most likely what he says? interesting VERY interesting. I am perplexed. |
