? for UltraSound Techs?

I went today for a ultrasound due to a dull pain on my right side and pelvic pressure.

The ultrasound tech took 4 pics of my left upper adomenen and about 20 of my right.

Would this be cause for alarm that they found something? Or due to maybe the Dr. specifiying in the paperwork the pain was on the right?

At our hospital we have to wait for the results to go back to our family Dr. The ultrasound tech does not diagnos.

When we do an abdominal ultrasound in my facility, we document the following organs. The aorta and pancreas (located pretty much mid line in the body), the liver, gallbladder, common bile duct and right kidney (all in the right side of the abdomen) and the spleen and left kidney (left side of the body). More pix would be taken on the right side of the body as that is where the majority of the organs that are visualized with ultrasound are located. Also, you are correct, the ultrasonographer cannot give out results. Take a deep breath and wait for your doctor appointment. And remember, if something serious was found at your study, the radiologist would have promptly called your referring physician. Take care.....
