Breast ultrasound? PLEASE READ...?

Yesterday was the only day I had free so I made an appointment with my doctors surgery, unfortunately my regular GP was booked out so I saw a different one. She was elderly and spoke really really softly. I also didn't understand a lot of what she said.

I have a lump in my right breast and also a yellowy nipple discharge from both nipples. Also both my breast have been very sore for weeks now.

She said something about the soreness being likely to chest wall muscles being pulled on because my breasts are large and to just take it easy? Have you heard of this or know what she may be talking about?

Secondly she has ordered a breast ultrasound for both breast because of the discharge?

She didn't really say anything about the lump at all?

Then at the end of the appointment I asked her if I could bring the results of the ultrasound back to my regular GP who I feel much more comfortable with and she said No, because she was the one who had ordered them. Do you think I can see my regular one when I go back?

She has also ordered a full blood count? Should I be worried, She didn't seem to be!!

you may not be able to take the ultra sound results to another doctor bc the dr is not confident in her craft? doctors dont know everything and if you dont feel comfortable with what you have been told you need to take charge and get more opinions. you need to speak up and ask questions and let them know if you dont understand. this is YOUR health you are talking about, you are the only one who can do this! i dont know what is wrong, but you seem very concerned, i would be too. does you reg dr have emergency appts? if you have been going there for a long time, call and explain what is going on and they may be able to bump a yearly check-up patient to get you in. DONT WAIT, DO THIS RIGHT AWAY!

You may have breast cancer, I hope you don't, but you will get your results and know, the bloodcount is basicly a blood test so she will know what is wrong with you! I wish you the best of luck!
