Level II Ultrasound at 22 Weeks? |
At my routine 20 week ultrasound, the doctor noticed that the sacrum (bottom of the spine) didn't seem fully developed and so I am now (at 22 weeks) being sent to have a Level II Ultrasound to get a better picture. Anyone have something similar happen to them? What could it mean if the spine isn't fully developed? The doctor didn't seem worried but I AM!!! A regular ultra sound can be decieving. The level ll ultra sound is more advanced and can look deeper at the bone structure of your baby. Be thankful your doctor is being cautious. I had one because they thought my baby wasn't growing as he should have been. The level ll ultrasound showed he was very strong-he was just fine. he is 16 months full of energy now! Good luck and don't worry. This is for your Doctor! Don't worry about it all babies develope at different paces. They have a 7-14-21 rule, which is your baby can be 7 days off 1st trimeseter, 14days off the 2nd trimeseter, and 21 days off the 3rd trimeseter, and never have anything wrong with them. |
