In my pelvic ultrasound, what were the red and blue colors showing?

I had a pelvic ultrasound done today to look for cysts and abnormalities and would love any help understanding what i saw. I saw a large black space with a texas-shaped bottom...is that my uterus? Then on a few frames the technician did something and some red and blue graphics showed up...what does that show?

I've had tons of ultrasounds done so I know that I'll get called soon to go over them and I know sort of what cysts look like on ultrasounds.

The red and blue you saw was blood flowing to and from your uterus/ovaries

Some ultrasound devices have a program option for Doppler sonography - a mode of projecting the routes where blood vessels spread along, and visualizing the blood flow through them.
A word of advice though : do not try to "read" a sonogram image and interpret it by yourself. Patients often tend to think they can interpret images, just because the've had so many exams done. It always creates great confusion and can scare you when you think you "see something that shouldn't be there" or are "missing things".
Just trust your doctor, and ask everything you feel confused about... Again, there's a reason medical education lasts so long.
