Ultrasound question??

If I went in and had a transvaginal ultrasound and would be 8 weeks pregnant and not told the doc would she have seen it? They were checking for any uterine problems I would have had and the tech showed me the lining of my uterus and said she could tell I just had my period a couple of days before that, because there was thin lining. I know you don't have a normal period during pregnancy, but I know some women do bleed. I also had a blood test done the same day and it was negative. The doc put me on birth control, (Yaz to be exact) but I just kinda felt wierd and started thinking maybe I could be pregnant. Is there anyway that they could have missed a baby at 8 weeks????

I took an hpt the day I took the blood test and it was negative. The blood test was neg and the ultrasound showed nothing. Even if they were looking for a pregnancy could it have been missed at 8 weeks?

No, at 8 weeks they would have seen it and the blood test would have been positive.

No way

I've had a transvaginal ultrasound and yes it would have shown the pregnancy if it was there.

If you were pregnant they would have picked it up. You said
" I know that you don't have a normal period during pregnancy", you don't have one at all.

yeah they could miss it, have you taken any home pregnancy tests?....and if you have and they came out positive i would go to ur doctor and ask for a pragnacy test (when they take a sample of ur pee) and if thats negitive and u think u stilll are positive i would go get another ultrasound and then that will tell you for sure....but i would wait a couple more weeks beofre u go get another ultrasound.....

No. At 8 weeks this would have been seen by the use of a trans-vaginal probe. Your HCG levels in the blood would have been detected as well. If your menstrual cycle had been interrupted, IE. skipped a month, there could be other causes and not just a pregnancy. If you thought that there could be a possibility that you were pregnant, don't ever be afraid to discuss this with your doctor. They are not there to judge you but to advise and treat you. I hope that the ultrasound come back with good news.
