Ultrasound results? |
I had a breast ultrasound yesterday and the technician said that the report would be done in three to four days and it would be sent to my doctor. Should I call my doctor to get the results asap or will she be prompt in getting back to me? If its your family doctor or who knows you personally they would definitely get back to you asap. Either if its your family doctor or not, you can call them up and it would be ok. They do know you are anxious to know the results and its understandable. Hope you have good results if you want you could call your doc but she will be back to you first of all, the films are reviewed immediately by the dr/technician so if there was any REAL concern, they would mention it before you even left. i always call my dr, i dont wait. maybe thats cause i am just one of MANY patients all calling and what not but my biz is important to me so i dont wait.... Wait for your doctor to call. If she dosen't respond withen 5 days call. I had an ultrasound once amd never got the results!! If there is somthing wrong they will call you back right away if it is serious ,and if its something minor they should still get back to you pretty quick but if you are really worryed about it just call and ease your worrys Wait for 5 days and if the doctor hasn't called you, call them for the results. Most doctors offices are good about calling patients with results and others are notoriously bad about calling. Don't make assumption that no news is good news! It's your health, be proactive. |

Sometimes you can have gallbladder problems and it not show up. Once you eat or drink anything the gallbladder contracts making it very difficult to beseen by ultrasound or CT. You can have gallsto... Then perhaps the problem is not your gallbladder if these tests are all coming back negative. Instead it may be the stomach or duodenum - possibly a gastric or peptic ulcer. Get a referral to se... I have not had an u/s guided needle biopsy, but I have helped my radiologist preform many of them. I would say that if I am ever in need of a breast biopsy, I would get an u/s guided or stereotact... I had my gallbladder removed and it was really hard for me to convince the doctors that it was not my ovaries or just me making it up! I had a dye-test ran where I was put on a table with a scan g... There are times that we cannot visualize the ovaries with either transvaginal or transabdominal ultrasound. I am unsure if any of these fit your situation, and I mean no disrespect, but here it go... |
