Have u heard of or are taking this Ulcerative Colitis Medicine? |
My doctor has recently prescribed me for this "wonder drug" for ulcerative colitis. it is called -----Infliximab---excuse the spelling might be wrong! hi sio, I have crohn's disease which is a type of IBD like colitis. I was on Remicade aka infleximab to get things under control. It worked great the first 2 times. kept me in remission for a 1 1/2 yr. the first time, 1 yr. the second time, but failed a 3rd time. This product has mouse dna which some pts. build up a tolerance to over time. Humira has been approved for Crohns and Iialda just came out for UC. Just a few comments to the question.....if your dr rx the med take it. he has his/her reason for rx it. No i personally have not taken this med but your dr prescribed this based on your medical history. I know uc can be very difficult to have but following the dr orders is the best thing you can do unless you get a second opinion by a med dr or cnp. But if you are in the mid of a flare up waiting to decide what to do is the worst thing. Call you dr ask to talk with him about the med. Tell him/her you are not sure about this med. Have the dr give the reasons on why he/she is prescribing this med to you. This is my suggestion to you. |
