Does anyone know if you can drink alcohol if you are taking 6 Merchaptopurine if you have Ulcerative Colitis?

Does anyone know if you can drink alcohol if you are taking 6 Merchaptopurine if you have Ulcerative Colitis? Alos I am currently in a "flare up" so my dosage went up a little bit. I use to drink and it didnt do any damage I'm just wondering if this little increase from 50mg to 75mg would have a negative effect? Thanks

In my experience- also have UC, i cant really drink at all, esp with a flare up. I would say no tbh.... Quite often alcohol can make meds ineffective, is not worth weeks of pain!

YOH you must not drink any alcohol when taking any type of drug

I'm no doc... but i'd say you should skip the booze.

You really should have asked the pharmacist. Its probably not a good idea
