22 with ulcerative colitis? |
ive had UC that i know of for a fact since i was 17 . I cant remeber anything in my life changing at that time other then stress, my mom had cancer an i went to stay with my dad and plus i was in what i thought was the most important relationship of my life (ha) , to make a long story short i just remember staying stressed and i started to complain of lower tummy pain .... n e ways i really would like to know what kinda natural ways i could help myself ... ive had a few flare ups but only one was so painful that i thought i was dieing . i layed in bed for atleast a week i was 18 ... and i dont know i had never felt that bad in my whole life ... i still pass blood when i go to the bathroom but my last GI said to get 'use' to that ..but it still freaks me out... currently im not on any meds for it..in the past i have took asacol and some kinda sulfa based med which made me feel worse if i may add...and so did the asacol. I have had UC for three years (I am 23). In my experience, no natural remedies have helped with flare ups. I'm sorry to tell you that. But I spent heaps of money on everything from aloe juice to physilium husk to herbal teas and nothing worked. My doctor prescribed me Colazide which is helping a lot. I don't know much about UC, but I thought you were supposed to remain on drugs to stay in remission? I'd recommend you post to the WebMD IBS message board - Trudy or CalGal would be able to answer your questions. There's also an IBD board. Report It Hi ShyGurl |
