Any body knows about typhoid fever?HHow long it will stay?

My husband is suffering from typhoid fever(salmonella typhi) within the range of 1:80 is this a starting stage?

I don't know what the range of 1:80 means, I have never heard it refered to in this manner.

Typhoid fever varies in each individual as to how long it stays in the body. Some people are affected for only a short time (like a week or two) and some people are affected for a few years. It is not understood why there is a big range. Studies have shown that aggressive antibiotic therapy is better for an earlier cure. About 3 percent of the cases end up becoming a carrier for Typhoid.

As long as your husband carries any Typhoid in his body (a blood test can tell when it is completely gone), he needs to not ever prepare food for anyone and he needs to do extremely good handwashing after using the bathroom. You also need to do extremely good handwashing or you may contract it from him.

1:80 is the titre of antibodies in a widal blood test and is not very useful but will assume significance if a repeat test after some days shows a higher titre.
typhoid with antibiotics will take about 2 weeks to get cured.

with modren chemotherapy[quinolones,3rd. generation cephalosporins]most of the cases are cured.
in some patients ,called carrier, the germs keep on living inthe gall bladder
and are released with the faeces, and are capable of infecting other persons through hands of the infected person.
the carriers do not have any symptoms.
the pathological diagnosis can be made by blood culture and
rising titres in a widal test[which you are referring to by1;80 ]
this test does differentiate early or late stage.
