Any one know about Typhoid fever?

i want to know that in how much time the typhoid fever is cured and what type of medicine use for this fever and any other advice or information you know about this tell me plz

Typhoid fever is caused by the bacterium Salmonella enterica serovar typhi. The antibiotics known to be effective against it are ampicillin, chloramphenicol, trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, and ciprofloxacin.

It is difficult to say how long it would take to cure it, since recovery would depend on how far the disease had gotten before it was treated, and how sick the patient was when he was treated. Antibiotic therapy that is effective against the bacterium should result in improvement in two or three days, and the bacteria should be cleared from the body within four days.

Once the bacteria is cleared from the body, the patient still has to recover from the damage done to him by the bacteria.

I'm sending you a link if you want more information.

Antibiotics are used to cure it. With early diagnosis and treatment it's almost always curable. Without treatment I believe it's fatal about half the time.

It's caused by ingesting water or food that's contaminated with feces.

Typhoid fever is a disease caused by salmonella group of bacteria. Without going into much technicalities certain brief salient interesting features of the disease are as below:
1. It is also called Enteric fever.
2. It is a quite serious disease affecting the delicate lymphatics of the small intestines called Payers Patches.
3. It is manifested mainly by a continuous moderate to high-grade fever with Toxicity, slow pulse, dry coated tongue, lack of appetite, mild pain over the entire abdomen etc.,.
when you have to rush to your Doctor for immediate Treatment.
4. Now a days there are very good drugs like ciprofloxiacins with which doctors can rapidly and successfully treat the disease.
5. the main and serious and many times fatal complications of the disease include perforations and haemorrhage.
6. The main diagnostic test for the Disease is WIDAL test.
7.Prevention: Taking all precautions to prevent the spread of the Disease through the famous Five 鈥淔鈥漵, that is: Fingers, Fomites, Flies, Food and Faeces (Stools)!!

Typhoid fever is an infectious disease caused by the bacterium Salmonella typhi & characterised by fever, collapse, abdominal pain & a rosy pink rash. Paratyphoid fever is a similar disease caused by related bacteria. These illnesses used to be called enteric fever. Their symptoms can range from a minor upset to severe, dangerous illness. Infection is aquired from food or water contaminated by sewage, or may be spread from faeces to food by flies. In developed countries typhoid is most likely to be spread by 'carriers'- people who have recovered from the disease without treatment but continue to have a small number of bacteria their gall bladder, from which the bacteria continually drain into the bowel & pass out in the faeces. The incubation period is 8 to 14 days. The onset is gradual, with fever, headache, joint pains, sore throat, loss of appetite, consipation, & abdominal pain & tenderness. In severe cases the fever rises to around 40c over the next few days & remains elevated for about 2 weeks, falling to normal by the end of the fourth week. Delirium & coma may develop while fever is high. During the second week pink spots lasting several days appear in crops on the chest & abdomen, & the spleen & liver become enlarged. Severe, often bloody diarrhoea develops late in the disease. Without treatment there may be serious complications: Pneumona; bleeding from the bowel; perforation of the bowel leading to Peritonitis; Hepatitis; & Cholecystitis (inflammation of the gall bladder). The diagnosis is confirmed by finding salmonellae in cultures of blood, faeces or urine, or specific antibodies in the blood. Treatment with appropriate antibiotics brings relief from symptoms within a few days & prevents complications.
