Is typhoid fever lethal?

yes/no?
and can you give a website that explains it in depth?

The fatality rate is 1.5% according to a 1994 article in the archives of internal medicine.

Here is a link to the CDC website: http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dbmd/diseasein... . They report that if you go untreated the fatality rate is 20% (the first number is from cases in New York that were presumably treated).

Any antigen can be lethal, from Typhoid Fever, to Influenza, there are to many variables to give you an answer. Several good sites are Web MD, CDC.gov, or google Typhoid Fever, and you will have more web sites than you could ever visit.

In the US, Typhoid Fever has been contained pretty well, however in some 2nd and 3rd world countries it is still wide spread...good luck
