What causes someone with type II diabetes to get nose bleeds and they do not have high blood pressure? Type II diabetes has nothing to do with nose bleeds, unless of course you hit your nose to test your blood glucose level, frequently. For frequent nose bleeds, you may have thin and easily brused blood vessels inside your nose making even the slightest bump, touch, or air movement a cause of the bleeds. If you are really concerned go to a doctor to fix the problem. the diabetes may have nothing to do with it. or it might...if you are in an arid area that can cause bleeds...if so try increasing humidity in house and if its like alot of folks for that reason it happens alot at night...you can use just a little vasoline inside nose as a coating to keep the membranes moist...but if they happen alot you may want ot mention it to your doctor and see what he thinks....it could also be a weak blood vessel that breaks alot and nneds to be cauterized..... Dry air can cause nose bleeds, air conditioners tend to pull humidity out of the air. Ocean spray can help. Local causes: a)Spontaneous, Trauma to nose, base of the skull, or from foreign body. or due to nasal diseases. high level of blood glucose negatively affect the clotting system in the body. so if a diabetic patient get injured it will be hard to stop bleeding easily. however bleeding from the nose for no reason has nothing to do with the diabetes. if this patient does not have high blood pressure and the problem is always recurring, we might think of having a high cerebral fluid pressure... so this patient should see quickly a physician... I am not aware of nosebleeds being tied to Diabetes II; it may because the air you are in is dry. A humidifer may help. |
