Has anyone diagnosed with Type II diabetes experienced trouble with their ears? |
Has anyone diagnosed with Type II diabetes experienced trouble with their ears? I cannot speak from personal experience, but diabetes would be a likely culprit. Diabetes affects the blood vessels and the nerves. Poor control of blood sugars and being diabetic for more than 10 years increase your risk of diabetic complications. Talking to your doctor is a good place to start. Don't put it off. Diabetes effects all parts of your body. If you feel something is not right get to a doctor now!! Delay can cost you. A ringing in the ears is a sign of damage. If you loose and regain hearing it could involve your nerves. Do not play see a doctor asap. My husband is a Type II diabetic with significant hearing loss and tinnitus. I don't know if the hearing issues are related to the diabetes, however, since his dad was deaf as a post and not diabetic and his mom is diabetic and has no hearing issues. |
