Anyone using Cinnamon for Type II diabetes?

Has anyone used cinnamon in trying to help control
flucations in Blood sugars?

Yes, along with a few other supplements. Apparently it's working very well. My recent HbA1C in December was 5.8 (that's non-diabetic for those who are wondering). Here's the whole story:

I was informed by my endocrinologist that cinnamon has been found to help blood sugars. I haven't tried it because i can't stand cinnamon, but there is scientific proof of it's benficial qualities.

yes iherd of it but it has to be extract cinnamon, not the normal kind of cinnamon you can get any were. go to a heath store and ask for some extract cinnamon or some one with diabetes

I just bought cinnamon tabs a few days ago at Whole Foods Market because I too have read that cinnamon can help control blood sugar levels. As with anything it will take a few days to see the results.

Yes, after reading one of Peachy's answers I decided to give it a try. Im taking it twice a day and that along with weight loss and exercise has got me off meds completely (WITH drs approval). It works!!!!;
PS Regular Cinnamon works just fine..it does not HAVE to be cinnamon extract as suggested in another answer!

Puritan's Pride Cinnamon

I have been using it for about five years.I discovered it myself through self testing.Sweet potatoes also helps.If you use these and stick to a high protein diet Including lots of vegetables,(no flour or pastry products, regular potatoes).Take a good multivitamin.Diet drinks& tea or coffee.(Cream only) you could get off meds compleatly.If you drink beer,have one five minutes before you eat.Not light beer.
