What happens if you don't control type II diabetes?

What happens if you don't control type II diabetes?

You have to be kidding

Uncontrolled

Loss of limbs, vision, sexual vigor
Heart liver and Kidney failure

my Dad lost his leg, then his arm, his vision went south
had to be on a diyalsis machine twice a week, finally died from a massive heart attack, he was 54.
He just plain didnt heed and drank continually, when he finally started taking care of himself, it was waay too late.

It sucked ,it didnt only affect him, but our entire family suffered.

complications can happen:
1--blindness
2--kidney failure
3--neurophaty

Having high blood sugar has long term serous side effects on the heart and and organs. It is not safe at all to leave it untreated especially if you BS is consistently high.

amputation, blindness, headaches, slow healing wounds, heart disease and stroke, kidney failure, blood pressure swings, diarrhea, carpal tunnel syndrome, more susceptible to UTI and skin infections

Sorry to be so blunt, but how about adding death to your list?

In the short term: elevated blood glucose levels which can affect eyesight, alertness, energy levels, susceptability to infection, etc. In the long term, as per the previous answer: retinopathy, neuropathy, vascular disease, heart disease, etc. It is not advisable to leave type II diabetes untreated. You may not notice the side effects of uncontrolled type II diabetes initially but after 5, 10 or 15 years, when it's too late to turn back the clock, you will know where you went wrong. I was diagnosed in my early 20s with type II and was too happy enjoying life to pay attention to diabetes control. I now have retinopathy, nephrotic syndrome, neuropathy, vascular disease, all of which could have been held at bay for longer, I am sure, had I been more sensible in my younger years. So if you have type II please do all you can to keep it in control, and seek medical advice.

it can lead to hypoglycemia...long trem complications include damage to blood vessels which can effect eye,kidneys,damage to nerves

Slow and painful death.

uncontrolled diabetes has multisystemic effects----
1.pronenes to infections---tuberculosis,pneumonia,skin infections ,urinary and foot in fections.
2.small vessel disease---affecting retina and kidney
3.atherosceloris-----high risk of heart attack and stroke
4.neuropathy --of gut,urinary bladder and limbs
5.metabolic--ketoacidosis and hyperosmolar coma

Uncontrolled diabetes leads to short and long term complications

The short-term complications that occur in people with diabetes include the following:

* Dehydration

* Vaginal or penile yeast infections
* Weight loss
